Sons and Daughters of War: Impacting Leadership

October 21 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

For many, the legacy of war is not just a historical fact but a lived inheritance—passed down through family stories, behaviours, and unspoken trauma. Whether through direct experience or the echoes felt in our motherlines and fatherlines, war has shaped how we lead, relate, and respond in the world.

In coaching leaders, we regularly see how the fate of a person’s family (or ethnic) group during wartime – amidst widescale death and related deprivations – leaves a particular quality of trauma and loss that influences coaching clients several generations later.

At TWP, this is very real too. Our founders—Ed, Ali, and Mark—each carry traces of war’s impact on their family systems. So too, does fellow Constellator Diana Claire Douglas, who has spent years exploring what it means to heal “when the war comes home,” using both writing and Constellation Work.

In response to the broader societal need to reckon with inherited trauma—and also sparked by a conversation about these shared patterns—TWP has invited Diana Claire to facilitate a Collective Constellation. This half-day workshop, hosted by Ed Rowland, will explore how war shapes leadership and demonstrate Diana Claire’s pioneering approach to online Constellating for the Collective sessions, which she has been facilitating since 2013.

Together we’ll explore questions such as:

  • How has war come home in our families and in our workplaces?
  • What are the requirements for leadership in a war culture and beyond-war culture?
  • What needs to be released individually and collectively about war to step into authentic and servant leadership?

Whether you are a new or experienced systemic practitioner, this workshop is designed to deepen your understanding and awareness about working with this hugely important theme.

Date: Tuesday October 21, 2025
Time: 2-6pm UK
Place: On Zoom
Host: Ed Rowland
Facilitator: Diane Claire Douglas
Fee: £50 general, £40 alumni

Constellating for the Collective

Systemic Processes for Humanity (citizens, groups, communities) to Align ֎ Design ֎ Activate ֎ Emerge ֎ and Evolve ֎ collectively on behalf of All-Life. Workshops, retreats, and trainings on-line and in person.

Constellating for the Collective is a whole body/heart/mind/soul, experiential and creative approach in the sacred container of the Knowing Field, that opens us to deep collective wisdom so needed now. New perspectives gained shift our relationships with each other + Life, opening up new possibilities and choices.

“There is a power in love-in-action: Something happens in the hearts and souls of participants of Constellating for the Collective when we work together in service of a larger purpose for coherence and health of the Whole.” (DCD)

Diana Claire Douglas, systemic facilitator, coach, and consultant

My purpose: attuning to the Sacred, to participate in the movements for humanity to be in our rightful place in relationship with All-Life. I am lead Constellator for The Hague Center for Global Governance, Innovation and Emergence and co-founder of The Hague Center for Field Inquiry (action research using a phenomenological approach). I enjoy bringing to my facilitation my love for Life as an artist, author, researcher, and grandmother. My most recent book on facilitating Collective Constellations, Whole Systems Design: Inquiries in the Knowing Field, was published in 2022.
